Some of its very interesting characteristics are the following:

- CMOS sensor of size APS-C of 10,1 megapixels.
- Ultrasonic cleaning system through sensor vibrations (at last!) called Self Cleaning Sensor Unit and situated in the low pass filter that is situated in front of the sensor (this way with no risk of the sensor being damaged by the vibrations).
- Same sensitivity as the 350D: From 100 to 1600 ISO.
- Burst speed of 3 photograms by second up to 27 imágenes in JPEG and 10 in RAW.
- The already classic DiG!C II (will it have a substitute in the new professional camera?).
- Automatic focus system of 9 points identical to the one of the 30D.
- LCD screen of 2,5 inches and 230.000 pixels of resolution.
- Dimensions of 22,2 x 14,8 milimetres.

Curiously, the Japanese web of the camera: www.canon.co.jp/Imaging/eosdigital3, includes in its url no 400 but a 3. Last minute decisions? It is not probable that we get to know it but you can at least satisfy your curiosity with the White Paper of the camera in PDF or and the remainder of images that offers Dpreview
And in addition… new professional lenses
Canon has also presented two new objectives that seem to indicate that not all letters are yet on the table, as they belong to the professional range: the EF 50mm f/1.2L USM and a new version of the EF 70-200mm f/4L IS USM that is the first objective of Canon with a stabilizer capable to shoot even in 4 steps under what we would need without him. Both lenses will begin to market in November and its prices are of 1600$ and 1250$ respectively… yes, 1600$, has been verified in the original press release in Japanese and the data seems to be well.
