Introduction to Macro Photography |
Macro photography is a kind of close-up photography. The classical definition is photography in which the image on film is at least as large as the subject. Macro photography permits us to explore objects that cannot be appreciated with the human eye, and thus shooting images with a macro lens is an interesting and exciting area of photography. Even though there is an infinite number of subjects that can be explored in macro photography, the most common one is centred on the natural world - plants, flowers and insects of all types. Some of the more creative photographers use macro photography for abstract imagery.

Are more pixels really the best? |
At this stage of digital cameras, I realise that many manufacturers, if not the majority, bet more on the quantity of pixels rather than the quality of the pixels. Even at most of the photographic agencies with which I work, which are not few, they prefer large images in JPG format, worked and retouched beyond acceptable limits; even washing all kinds of grain, showing a soft, unreal, image without detail. From my extensive experience in the digital world, and especially in the photography one, I always have bet more on the quality than on the quantity.
At present, manufacturers sell us more pixels inside their cameras, alleging that that gives us greater quality; but if the sensors of the |

Memory cards |
Memory cards are characterised by having a type of memory called flash. This signifies that, even when disconnected from the unit to which they are adapted, they maintain the data in a permanent and secure way, more than a traditional hard disk. It is a type of memory units with great resistance to blows, which maintain their reliability during contusions, provided that they are not bent. That security and advantageous permanence has, on the other hand, a reflection on its price.
Additionally, there are portable card readers that store these in a hard disk and they have an image viewer. They are useful in photography to download the memory of the camera in any place and continue taking pictures.
Subsequently we offer some informative points about a total of eight card types, all present in the market with a diversity of storage capabilities. |

The ultrasonic cleaning system of Canon |
In the following video we can very clearly see the way in which the Self Cleaning Sensor Unit that is present in the new Canon EOS 400D - and which will presumably be present in all the next reflex of the company - works.
The system is automatically activated when the camera is connected and causes the low pass filter to vibrate during a second. If we cannot wait and need to shoot immediately it stops as soon as it detects that we press the trigger.
If despite this, we continue having problems of filth in the sensor, we will always have the option of using the new tool of the Digital Photo Professional application of Canon for this end. For this we take a photo of a white surface with an opening as reduced possible (greater f number) and the program takes charge of eliminating the constant pattern of filth. |
